The dark throat and belly of this black-bellied plover are remnants of the even more distinct breeding plumage. The other two plovers are also black-bellied but are juveniles. The smaller cinnamon-colored birds are short-billed dowitchers. A semipalmated sandpiper appears in the lower right hand part of the group.
