Machias Seal Island

The light station manned by the Canadian Coast Guard is seen on approach to Machias Seal Island. Living quarters are maintained for the warden who stays on the island for 28-day shift. Transportation of all personnel and support is by helicopter.

Machias Seal Island is a 13-acre rocky mount in the Gulf of Maine and at the entrance to the Bay of Fundy.
