This sandhill crane was parachute landing at sunset at the Bosque del Apache NWR, San Antonio, NM.  I exposed for a silhouetted bird.  The sunset colors were a spectacular range of yellow through red to dark, although not so vibrant as here.   The background colors are enhanced through various Nik Color Efex filters.  I wanted the bird's legs to dangle in the yellow last rays of the sun.
