warp-speed red-billed tropicbird

warp-speed red-billed tropicbird

I photographed this red-billed tropicbird on July 12, 2008 near Matinicus Rock while on a birding trip sponsored by the Maine Audubon Society.  This bird is extremely unusual for the Gulf of Maine, there is only one at Matinicus, it is very sleek with a long tail streamer, and flies very fast.  OK, maybe not warp-speed, but fast.  I wanted to capture its speed in this image, which started with the original and was then processed in Photoshop using several Nik Color Efex filters.
