Bird photography in western Massachusetts has been good in this winter of 2012-2013.. Almost all of these birds were in or close to the town of Hadley, and many of those were at the Honey Pot Rd. area of western Hadley, an area of protected farmland near the Connecticut River. This area is a collection of open farm fields, some small mixed deciduous-coniferous woods, and some scrub brush, ideal habitat for perching birds and their pursuers including several varieties of raptors.

Keith - I do love all your birds. I think I'm surprised you have this many through these cold days. Beautiful pictures.
