The photos in this gallery are of birds that I photographed in the first week of December 2010 on the Gulf Coast of Texas, at Aransas NWR and nearby areas, and also at the King Ranch at Kingsville, TX. I was joined by my friend Karl Gerstenberger, also a bird photographer. We had a great trip. The highlight of the trip was photographing the magnificent Whooping Cranes at Aransas NWR, but there were many other beautiful birds such as Vermillion Flycatcher, Great Kiskadee, Black-necked Stilt, American Oystercatcher as well as many species of ducks.
