Least Sandpiper (juvenile)
Calidris minutilla
Weskeag Marsh, South Thomaston, Maine
This is the smallest member of the sandpiper family, about 6" long, with greenish legs, crouching posture and a thin slightly drooping bill. Least sandpipers like to keep their feet dry and are often found at the edge of a pool or on a hummock, as in this photo.
