Sossusvlei is a region of magnificent massive red sand dunes, a part of the Namib-Naukluft National Park in southwestern Namibia. It has some of the highest sand dunes in the world. It is also home to a dead dry clay pan marsh called Deadvlei, an other-worldly place of ancient sun-blackened trees, a photographer's paradise of phantasmagorical shapes and colors.
