Phaethon aetherus

A single red-billed tropicbird has been spotted every summer since 2004, either at Matinicus Rock or nearby Seal Island, both in the Gulf of Maine and far north of its standard range. These photos were taken on July 12, 2008 from the Puffin V, a Maine Audubon Society boat.
