These horned larks, snow buntings, and Lapland longspurs were photographed in Hadley and Deerfield, Massachusetts in January 2009. These are all small sparrow-sized birds. The snow buntings and Lapland longspurs are much less numerous than the horned larks, in typical mixed flocks.
