This flock of short-billed dowitchers was flying high over the parking lot at Weskeag Marsh, South Thomaston, Maine, in July 2008.  I was just amazed at the enormous amount of kinetic energy of this flock, and wanted to somehow capture that.  I started with a photo of the flock, then in Photoshop used several Nik Color Efex filters until I got something I liked.
