This is a Northern Gannet in repose using its white wing feathers to cover its apricot-colored head crown. It seemed to be meditating, seeking some peace among a colony of 120,000 gannets at Bonaventure Island, Quebec. The photo was taken in July 2010. For more gannet photos, click here.
